Makim Makina Teknolojileri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. began its journey in 1982 in Ankara with the production of its own-designed die-sinking electrical discharge machines (EDM), and today has evolved into a versatile technology company operating in the fields of investment casting and access control systems.

Makim started the production of turnstile and barrier systems in 1994, becoming one of the pioneering manufacturers in this field in Türkiye. In 2000, it expanded further by investing in investment casting technologies. Since 1994, the company has also been manufacturing doner cutting equipments. Positioned as an extension of its electromechanical manufacturing process, this production line is an integral part of the company’s long-standing manufacturing experience. In 2007, Makim increased its production capacity and strategically shifted towards high value-added fields through its partnership with KOBİ A.Ş.

With its diverse production structure spanning from investment casting to access control systems, Makim is a technology company that offers advanced engineering and integrated solutions. The company operates with a technology-centered approach, developing solutions for both industrial and medical sectors.

Makim began investment casting production in 2000 and has specialized particularly in the manufacturing of medical and industrial components. It produces in areas requiring high precision and quality, such as implants placed in the human body. Makim manages its production processes in accordance with international standards, certified by ISO 13485:2016 Quality Management System for Medical Devices, and exports investment casting products to many countries including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

On the access control systems side, Makim provides secure and efficient access management through its turnstile and barrier solutions in public institutions, transportation infrastructures, stadiums, and corporate facilities. It manages all equipment and components used in these systems—from production to trade—entirely in-house. The company exports its products in this field to more than 70 countries.

In response to increasing demand and capacity needs, Makim initiated a new investment casting factory project in 2021 in Ankara HAB Organized Industrial Zone, completing it in 2024. In October of the same year, the company also acquired a second factory to relocate its electromechanical production activities related to access control systems. As of 2025, Makim continues its production activities entirely in its modern, high-capacity new facilities, managing all processes—from R&D and design to machining, electronic production, and assembly—in an integrated manner within its own organization.

Since June 17, 2022, Makim has been publicly traded on Borsa Istanbul.
