T 281 Electromechanical Turnstile

Application

The T 281 turnstile can be used reliably even in crowded areas such as public transportation hubs, universities, banks, business centers, amusement parks, museums, gyms, and concert entrances.

Material

The T 281 tripod turnstile is manufactured as standard from 304-grade stainless steel. All arms and the body are made of 304 stainless steel, while the central hub is made of aluminum material. What distinguishes the T 281 from other tripod turnstiles is its heavier mass and enclosed back. The T 281 is suitable for token-based access, as it has a dedicated area for a token mechanism and token box. Optionally, it can be produced using 316-grade stainless steel. The main mechanism inside the turnstile is produced in Makim's manufacturing facilities using a special precision casting technology. This ensures durability against impacts and long-lasting, trouble-free operation. Thanks to control boards developed by Makim engineers, the T 281 turnstile can operate in many different modes and integrations.

General Use

Bidirectional passage is possible through the T 281 turnstile. Any type of access control device such as a card reader, fingerprint or facial recognition system can be easily integrated with the turnstile via dry contact. Once access is granted, the turnstile unlocks and passage is completed by gently pushing the arms. Once the arms have completed a full rotation, the turnstile locks again. If no passage occurs within 15 seconds after unlocking, the turnstile gives an audible warning and then re-locks. On both sides of the T 281 turnstile, there are LED indicators displaying red crosses and green arrows to show the direction of access. More than 30 passages per minute can be made through the turnstile.

Safety

In the event of a power outage, the arms of the T 281 turnstile allow free passage in both directions. Optionally, a drop-arm mechanism can be provided. In this mechanism, if a signal is sent from the emergency system to the turnstile board during a power failure, the arm drops to completely clear the passage. This allows the area to be quickly evacuated when necessary.
